Seven of the 10 safest cities in the U.S. collaborate with ICE law enforcement.
WASHINGTON – U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) was instrumental in the apprehension of an MS-13 gang member and confessed murderer in Virginia just weeks before Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger took office and ended the state’s cooperation with ICE.
This arrest highlights the critical role of federal immigration enforcement in addressing gang-related crimes. The individual, who admitted to committing five murders, was detained as part of a broader effort to dismantle MS-13 operations in the region. The case underscores the importance of interagency collaboration in combating transnational criminal networks.
The Department of Homeland Security continues to work with local law enforcement partners to ensure public safety and uphold the rule of law.
